Bolas Calientes is Robertson Farms’ go-to hot sauce for everyday use. We use it on eggs, pizza, pulled pork or wherever you need a pick-me-up for bland food. A bottle is always on our kitchen counter and goes rather quickly. Shake a bit in soups, jambalaya, gumbo or etouffee for just the right amount of heat.
Bolas Calientes is made from a blend of peppers from from very hot habaneros, to milder varieties like Hungarian yellows. It has a full-bodied, well-rounded pepper flavor. We classify Bolas Calientes as “hot.”
Our nephews encouraged us to name one of our hot sauces “Hot as Balls.” We think that the Spanish translation gets close to their.vision.
